Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a registered nurse (RN) specialized in Operating Room (OR) for a position at a specialty care hospital in Marquette, Michigan. This role involves providing surgical nursing care in a Level 2 trauma unit with the potential to receive Level 1 trauma patients. The position offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment supporting a diverse patient population, including geriatrics, adults, and pediatrics, with minimal experience required.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Start times at 0645 or 0900.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification, 0 years of experience, and eligible to work in Michigan.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in general surgery, urology, gynecology, neurology, orthopedic surgery (total joints, sports medicine, trauma, podiatry), basic ENT, vascular, and robot-assisted procedures.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a high-volume surgical environment with a patient-to-staff ratio of 1:1. The unit is equipped with Cerner electronic health record system. Apply early for housing options. Look for furnished housing through recommended resources.
- Unit Information: 12 operating rooms, with trauma level classified as Level 2 but capable of handling Level 1 trauma patients.
- On-call Status: Call required during weekends in 12-hour blocks, with two teams on call. One or two weekends every six weeks and one weeknight every other week, with a 30-minute response time.
- Dress Code: Hospital provided scrubs.
- Personality Fit: Fast-paced team player with a positive attitude is preferred.
