Job Summary
Wound Care Specialist Tacoma, Washington. This role involves managing and coordinating patient wound care, including consults, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple facilities. The position requires providing specialized wound management for diverse diagnoses, including ostomies, draining wounds, pressure ulcers, and skin conditions resulting from incontinence, surgical procedures, or trauma. The clinician will contribute to patient education and support interdisciplinary teams, working in a dynamic inpatient setting.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days (4/10s), with float to facilities as needed; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) through NAWCO, and Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license; minimum of 2 years of relevant wound care experience; willing to submit license; experience working in acute care settings preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Smith and Nephew wound vacs, knowledge of EPIC charting system, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Float: Float to other facilities, sometimes scheduled in advance.
- Additional Information: The role involves providing wound management at multiple hospitals within the area, using a variety of wound care techniques including VAC therapy. The position offers orientation to all hospitals with preceptor support, and adherence to unit-specific protocols is required.
