- Experience Required: 2 years of recent wound care experience preferred
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of recent wound care nursing experience
- Previous travel nurse assignment experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- WOCN certification required
- Experience with wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consult-based environment
- Strong documentation, assessment, and patient education skills
- Flu vaccine required
- Must be comfortable supporting a 60-mile traveler radius requirement
Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and document wound care and ostomy consults for a diverse patient population
- Provide expert nursing care for pressure injuries, ostomies, and complex skin conditions
- Support patient and family education related to wound prevention and ongoing care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop effective care plans
- Participate in daily consult review and team planning
- Deliver real-time education and prevention rounding when census allows
- Support stage III and higher pressure injury debriefs with unit leadership as needed
- Use facility documentation tools and camera capture workflow for admission and follow-up care
- Maintain strong communication and clinical judgment in a high-volume hospital environment
