Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Telemetry in Milwaukee, WI. This position involves providing direct patient care in a Level III Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke program and advanced telemetry services. The RN will deliver high-quality nursing care, monitor patient vitals, and support the medical team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN license, 2 years of clinical experience, BLS certification, valid Wisconsin state license, and experience in cardiac gtts (Primacor, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine), heparin, Lasix, insulin gtts, chest tubes, tracheostomies, telemetry reading, and wound care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system and ability to float to other inpatient units within scope of practice.
- Float: All other inpatient areas within scope of practice; possible float to ICU if patient acuity requires (rare).
- Support on the Unit: Charge nurse, unit secretary, 24/7 hospitalist, RT, and centralized telemetry monitoring with tele tech.
- Equipment/System: EPIC (preferred), Alaris, Pyxis, GE monitors.
- Orientation: At least one shift to learn unit flow.
- Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other weekend, no block scheduling, approved time off up to 7 days.
- Overtime: None unless approved by manager.
- On Call: None.
- Holiday Expectations: One summer and one winter holiday per year.
- Additional Notes: Scrub color is flexible; no camouflage or denim allowed. Must document pain levels before and after medication administration; pain scores must match medication orders. Free parking is provided.
