Stepdown RN – UP Health System | Marquette, MI

Shift: 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Experience: 1+ year PCU or Stepdown experience
Trauma Level: Level II
EMR: Cerner
Unit: 36-bed Cardiac IMCU / Medical Surgical Telemetry

Patient Ratios

• Cardiac/Telemetry: 1:5–6
• PCU/Stepdown: 1:3–4

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Must-Have Experience

• Cardiac patient populations
• Chest tubes
• Cardiac monitoring
• Cardiac drips
• Stepdown/PCU patients
• Strong telemetry skills

Low-level ICU experience is a plus.

Common Diagnoses / Cases

• Chest pain
• CHF
• Stroke/TIA
• VATS
• Pacemakers
• Heart blocks
• Vascular patients
• Pre- and post-open heart surgery
• Trauma and stepdown-level patients

UP Health System is a 225-bed specialty care hospital serving Michigan's Upper Peninsula with cardiovascular, neuroscience, cancer, surgical, rehabilitation, behavioral health, women's health, and pediatric services.

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Blue or navy
• Education: Associate degree minimum
• Strong teamwork is essential

Great fit for a PCU/Stepdown RN with strong cardiac skills who is comfortable managing drips, chest tubes, telemetry, and higher-acuity cardiac patients.
