29 beds, capability to go to 37 (8 semi-private rooms)
Patient Ratios:
1:3-5
Charge Nurse:
Preferred experience
Patient Population
- CKD, DM, CHF, UTI, GI Bleeds, Respiratory Failure/COPD/Pneumonia, Sepsis, STEMI
Required Certifications
Must be attached at submission:
- RN license in the state of practice or compact
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Minimum Experience Requirements
- 2 years recent RN experience
Preferred:
- Travel experience preferred
- Precept and/or charge experience
Required Skills
Critical thinking and recognizing early signs of deterioration
- Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation
- ACLS, knowledge of cardiac drips (titratable drips on unit)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with critical care
Charting:
EPIC
- PerfectServe
- Dimensions
Include any required check-off, class, or training if listed
- EPIC training (preferred)
- Critical Care Course (preferred)
Unit Culture / Strengths
- Support staff includes PCTs (and HUC days only)
Additional Policies
- Dysrhythmia exam needed (study guide available in Simplify Library)
Education Requirement
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
