Job Summary:
Pediatric Operating Room Nurse (OR PEDS) Oakland, California. This position involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care in a multidisciplinary pediatric surgical environment. The role requires collaboration with surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient procedures for pediatric patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour day shifts with start times at 6:45 AM, 8:45 AM, or 10:45 AM. Shifts can vary weekly based on department needs, with a typical rotation and occasional weekends.
- Required Qualifications: CA Registered Nurse (RN) license; BSN degree; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience; 3 years of general OR experience; current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification; ambulatory OR experience; Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience; trauma experience (preferably Level I or II).
- Float: Ability to float to other UCSF facilities if needed.
- Additional Information: The role involves operating room procedures specific to pediatric patients, including a broad range of surgical interventions and specialties such as ENT, general surgery, cardiovascular, and trauma cases. The position requires proficiency with the Epic charting system and adherence to hospital protocols. Orientation includes modules specific to pediatric perioperative care, completed prior to start date.
