What the Facility Wants (Requirements & Expectations)
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience required. (Note: Position is mainly adults, so adult Med-Surg experience is required).
- License & Certifications: Active RN license and required certifications: BLS and PALS.
- Fit Testing & Facial Hair Policy: Clinicians with facial hair must pass a primary or secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 sm/reg or 3M 1870+). If unable to pass, a Portacount test is required (which cannot be completed on individuals with facial hair). PAPRs cannot be completed on site solely due to failing a fit test from facial hair; contracts will be canceled if facial hair cannot be removed.
Clinical & Unit Overview
- Unit Details: 17 total beds (14 inpatient, 3 observation).
- Patient Ratios & Care: Days: 1:4, Nights: 1:5. Common diagnoses include adults and peds with UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD.
- Drips & Monitoring: RNs do not titrate drips. ICU monitors and reads telemetry strips; MSP nurses apply telemetry to patients.
- Support Staff: Nurse aids (2 on days, 1 on nights); charge nurses take assignments; pediatrician on-call 24/7.
- Floating Requirements: ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed.
Scheduling & Facility Policies
- Weekends & Holidays: Weekends as needed; no holiday requirements.
- Radius & Employment Rules: 50-mile radius rule applies. Candidates cannot be active full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity).
- RTO Policy: RTO must be requested upfront (maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved post-submission.
- Orientation: 1 x 12-hour shift (or one night and one day if needed).
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs.
