Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit Nurse (Registered Nurse) in Macon, Georgia. This role involves supervising the delivery of quality patient care, ensuring adherence to nursing care plans, and fostering a safe environment for patients and staff. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, perform nursing assessments, and support patient education and discharge planning to promote positive healthcare outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) prior to first shift; at least 2 years of bedside clinical experience; valid nursing license in Georgia; no minimum experience required if otherwise qualified
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting
  • Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and maintains accurate documentation. Initiates discharge planning and patient education early in the hospitalization. Communicates patient status updates effectively among care team members, including attending physicians and charge nurses. Provides supervision and guidance to ancillary staff, participates in team-building activities, and maintains a focus on safety, quality, and cost-effective care. Takes charge responsibilities post-orientation as appropriate and engages in continuous professional growth through ongoing education and self-study.
