Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse is needed in Albany, New York. This role involves providing care for medically complex adult patients in a high-acuity environment. Candidates must be skilled in managing critically ill patients with a variety of complications, adhering to established protocols and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, experience in adult progressive care or intensive care units, proficiency with ACLS and advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage, and competency in managing complex medical and surgical patients. Additionally, candidates must have experience with respiratory therapies such as HFNC, BiPap/CPap, and oxypendent. A competency test is required within 24 hours of submission, sent via email.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital ICU settings, large-scale adult PCU experience.
- Additional Information: This position is for a vacancy due to internal needs. The facility utilizes electronic medical records (EMRs). Scrub colors or dress code are designated as per hospital policy. The position involves caring for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, head injuries, multi-system organ disfunction, endocrine disorders, trauma, and surgical complications. The average patient load is three high-acuity patients.
