Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The role involves providing high-quality patient care within a 28-bed unit that focuses on neurological, trauma, and orthopedic patients. Candidates must have recent experience in a similar setting and be comfortable working 12-hour day shifts on a self-scheduling basis.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse (RN) license, BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications, minimum 2 years of recent experience in medical-surgical, progressive care, or ICU settings, with recent drip experience within the last year. Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are preferred.
  • Common patient diagnoses include strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barr syndrome, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, neuro, trauma, and orthopedic injuries.
  • Experience or must-have skills: At least 2 years of recent MS, PCU, or ICU experience, with preferred experience in home trach vents and drip titration (Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Insulin).
  • Clinical responsibilities include managing ventilators, trachs, and telemonitoring with a central monitor.
  • Float requirements: Cross-training to general medical-surgical units across six specialties including cardiac, hematology/oncology, and orthopedics.
  • Dress code: Any solid color scrubs.
  • Orientation: One shift general orientation plus one shift with a preceptor.
  • Additional info: Prior employment with the facility must be noted, with an end date at least 6 months before submission. All clinicians must clock in/out at the facility.
