Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12 Nights
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Unit: 22-bed PCU
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced PCU RN to care for cardiac and post-surgical patients in a fast-paced 22-bed progressive care unit. First-time travelers are welcome.
Patient Population
- Post-cardiac catheterization
- TAVR and Mitral Clip patients
- Esophagectomy, wedge, and lobectomy patients
- Cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Quick patient turnover and recovery-focused care
Requirements
- 1+ year PCU experience
- BLS, ACLS & NIHSS required
- Strong cardiac/PCU experience
Must-Have Skills
- Sheath pulls
- Chest tubes
- Cardiac cath patients
- Cardiac drips
- Tube feed management
- Esophageal patient care
- Doff management
Preferred: Arterial line experience with TAVR patients. Training available for sheath pulls.
Unit Details
- Patient Ratio: 1:4–1:5
- EMR: Cerner
- Telemetry monitoring
- IV/VAT team available for specialty/stat draws
- RT available 24/7
- Hospitalist support
- Charge nurse takes a reduced assignment
Schedule & Other Details
- Every other weekend
- No call
- Holiday rotation required
- Floating within scope may be required
- 2 unit orientation shifts
- Scrubs: Galaxy Blue
- Parking: Free badge-access parking
- First-time travelers accepted
