Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position is based in an unspecified location. This role involves providing high-quality clinical care within an interdisciplinary team. The position includes opportunities for floating within the same discipline across local campuses and requires adherence to facility protocols and safety standards.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state licenses for Illinois and Iowa, at least 1 travel contract completed, work history/resume, skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission, license verification, copy of required certifications (BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)), drivers license, references including one supervisory reference, and a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Two years of previous stepdown experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: This unit maintains a patient-to-staff ratio of 1:7. The position mandates participation in orientation scheduled periodically throughout the year and working 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). The assignment duration ranges from 8 to 13 weeks, with options for 2-year experience. The role involves managing patients with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, central lines, and titration of medications including amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, isuprel, milrinone, and argatroban.
