  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 - $2,160
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
  • Unit Focus: Acute leukemia, hematology, infection prevention, and fall prevention
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Orientation: 72 hours
  • Weekend Coverage: Variable based on unit needs
  • Float: May float to other MedSurg oncology units

Job Requirements

  • Current RN license in hand at the time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of recent PCU experience
  • Current acute care experience must be recent and consistent within the last 12 months
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Experience with Epic or another computerized charting system required
  • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • Strong skills in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and peripheral line management
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leadership role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute leukemia and hematology diagnoses
  • Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Administer IV therapies, blood products, electrolytes, and antibiotics safely and accurately
  • Support infection prevention efforts and fall prevention initiatives throughout the unit
  • Manage central lines, PICCs, peripheral IVs, feeding tubes, and phlebotomy needs as appropriate
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, therapy, and rapid response services
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
  • Adapt to rotating day and night shift needs based on departmental scheduling priorities
