Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Step Down Unit at a healthcare organization located in Atlanta, Georgia. This position involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume cardiovascular care environment with a varied patient population. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop critical care skills, enhance assessment techniques, and gain experience in a dynamic clinical setting.
Job Details:
- Shift Time: Nights
- Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours

- Required Qualifications: Valid Georgia or compact license, 2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with cardiovascular procedures and diagnosis, proficiency with arterial lines, PA catheters, and drips, must pass Emory administered proctored dysrhythmia test including identification and calibration questions. CCRN preferred, presurgical patients experience, 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years, and ability to work in a unit that accommodates LVADs, arterial lines, and multiple drips.
- Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification, experience with pre-surgical cardiovascular patients.
- Additional Information: The unit will not utilize ventilators, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), Impella devices, or intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP). The unit will serve as a monitoring area for patients with same-day procedures, emphasizing rapid patient turnover with a wide variety of diagnoses. Designed to foster organization, critical thinking, and assessment skills in a cardiovascular clinical environment.
