Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position located in Bridgeton, Missouri. The RN is responsible for maintaining the delivery of high-quality patient care by following the nursing care plan, supervising support staff, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality outcomes, and effective communication within a dynamic clinical environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift. Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only). A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired. The candidate must possess a current registered nurse license and meet education requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Progressive Care setting.
- Additional Information: Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, participates in planning and discharge processes, and ensures accurate documentation of patient care. Provides supervision and delegation to ancillary nursing personnel, supports a culture of safety and teamwork, and maintains effective communication with the care team. The RN will initiate discharge planning and patient education starting from day one of admission, contributing to positive patient outcomes and safety. The role may include charge responsibilities following the orientation period, with ongoing opportunities for professional development and growth.
