• Patient Ratios: 1:3 in PCU; 1:4-5 in Med-Surg Telemetry

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of PCU RN experience required
• Current acute care experience must be recent and consistent
• Experience with high-acuity PCU patients strongly preferred
• Oncology nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to float to equivalent or lower acuity oncology or Med-Surg units
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for progressive care patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
• Manage patients with solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
• Perform and support infection prevention and fall prevention practices
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and support port access
• Care for patients requiring PCA, bladder irrigation, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Collaborate with rapid response teams and other interdisciplinary support services
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols closely
• Float as needed to other PCU or lower-acuity oncology units
• Contribute to a strong team environment focused on patient safety and quality care
