Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse in the Portland area. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients transitioning from critical care to med-surg, with a focus on caring for higher-acuity patients, including those requiring ventilator and tracheostomy management, cardiac and respiratory support, and titrated infusions. The role requires adaptable, experienced RNs capable of floating between different units based on skill set needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 09/14/2026 and ending 12/14/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license (Compact license preferred), at least 1 year of experience in step-down or critical care settings, certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and experience managing ventilated and trach patients, cardiac drips, and complex respiratory cases.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations, ability to float across units, proficient in Epic charting system, and strong critical thinking skills.
- Additional Information: Candidates should be prepared to float to other units as needed in accordance with their skill set, and must have reliable transportation. Successful candidates will be responsible for responding to the assignment's clinical demands, including high-acuity patient care and adherence to facility protocols.
