Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment at a facility located in Thornton, Colorado. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a state-of-the-art unit specializing in post-operative recovery, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and other acute care patient populations. The scheduled shift is nights, with 12-hour shifts and a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week.
Job Details
- Position: Travel RN - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Location: Thornton, Colorado
- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience; BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac experience; prior Meditech experience
- Unit Description:
- Bed count: 24 beds
- Staffing: Charge nurses, 4-5 RNs, 2-3 PCTs per shift
- Patient Ratio: 5:1
- Equipment: Tele monitoring, post-op monitoring
- Typical Procedures: Post-op recovery for surgical and cath lab patients, orthopedic post-op, elective cath lab procedures, stroke care, CIWA, chest pain, renal and respiratory failures, and cardiac drips management.
- Unit Highlights: Brand new, state-of-the-art facility with ADA/compliant bariatric rooms, Hoyer lifts, excellent teamwork, and diverse nursing experience.
- Schedule Flexibility: Modified self-scheduling, schedules posted three weeks in advance for easy trade arrangements.
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Experience: 1 year minimum experience required, open to candidates with less than 1 year also considered.
