Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position located in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized patient care to individuals requiring close monitoring and treatment. The selected candidate will administer chemotherapy and biotherapy, with some oncology experience preferred. Candidates who have completed the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course or are Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certified will be considered for assignments involving active chemotherapy infusions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, completion of unit-based oncology course and unit orientation, 1 year of nursing experience, oncology experience preferred, and optional ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course completion or OCN certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Progressive Care Unit setting, certification in Oncology Nursing if applicable.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Candidates should be able to complete the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course to administer vesicant chemotherapy. On the unit, staff complete this course after orientation; non-vesicant chemotherapy can be administered after completing an oncology course or being OCN certified.
