Job Summary:
The healthcare professional opportunity is based in Durango, Colorado, within a Step Down Unit. This position involves providing specialized care for adult patients with various medical conditions, including cardiac, neuro, oncology, and post-surgical patients. The role requires flexibility to float among different acuity levels and units, ensuring comprehensive patient management during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in Step Down Units, valid licensure, CPR (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications. Must be comfortable titrating & managing cardiac drips, insulin, ativan, & heparin.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience, Epic electronic medical records experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required; clinicians should be prepared to cover various units including general, cardiac, neuro, oncology, and others.
- Additional Information:
- Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor.
- The unit maintains a nurse-patient ratio of 1:3-4 depending on acuity.
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Unit uses EPIC charting system.
- Shift scheduling is made out by leadership for six-week periods; flexibility is expected.
- May be asked to work during holidays and weekend shifts as part of the rotation.
- Scrub color/dress code is any color.
- The position is located at 1010 3 Springs Blvd, Durango, Colorado, 81301.
