Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an urban community hospital setting. This position involves providing care for general medical, vascular, and immediate thoracic surgical patients requiring continuous cardiac, respiratory, or hemodynamic support. The RN will interpret cardiac strips, manage invasive lines, titrate medication drips, and monitor post-procedure patients within a high-tech, team-focused environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working a minimum of 36 hours per week, on a 6-week cycle.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), 1 year Cardiac Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit experience, at least 1 year of nursing experience, location in North Carolina.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial lines, cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-invasive ventilator care (BiPAP/CPAP), post-procedure site care, and familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC).
- Additional Information: Orientation includes 36 hours in the first week with online learning and preceptor-guided departmental orientation. The unit promotes a positive, team-oriented culture with high-tech tools and protocols. The RN is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, interpretation, and support for various critically monitored patients. Floating may occur within the critical care division or intermediate care.
