Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse position in the local healthcare organization offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role involves providing specialized post-operative care to patients emerging from anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with the care team to ensure patient safety and comfort during recovery phases. The position requires the ability to respond promptly to patient needs and foster effective communication with families and healthcare professionals.
Job Details:
- Location: Yuba-Sutter County, CA
- Schedule: Evening shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire; demonstrated competency in Dysrhythmia during orientation; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months for Perinatal unit; PALS certification within 1 year and IV Sedation within 6 months for Emergency Department; facility-specific BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in post-anesthesia care or critical care units; additional certifications relevant to specific departmental needs are advantageous.
- Additional Information: The role involves utilizing the nursing process to assess patients, design and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses. Requires proficiency in administering medications and IV therapy, providing education to patients and families, and responding to emergency situations following established protocols. The nurse will oversee patient care, delegate tasks appropriately, and ensure continuity of care by adhering to physicians' orders and safety standards. The position also demands proper documentation, technical skills with patient care equipment, and practice according to the California Nurse Practice Act.
