PRN Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Lumberton, North Carolina.

- Number of ORs: 6 OR’S, 1 Procedure Room and 1 Endoscopy Suite Procedure Room
- Staff will rotate through PreOp and PACU (Phase 1 & Phase 2) areas
- Minimum Experience required: 1 year
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? NO
- Case Types:
- Ages: Peds and Adults
- GYN
- General
- Robotics: Bariatric, Prostate, Hernia, Gallbladder, Hysterectomy
- Urology
- Ortho
- Ortho/Spine
- Podiatry
- Cataracts
- ENT
- ENDO: Colon, EGD, ERCP, Bronchoscopy
- Vascular
- Pre-op: 1:3 or 1:4, depending on acuity
- Phase 1: 1:2
- Phase 2: 1:4
- Required Licensure and Certifications:
- RN: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI/MOAB – all certifications must be in hand, prior to submission
- Skills required:
- Comfortability with the above case types – must have experience in ALL
- Critical Care experience and competencies with ICU cases including hemodynamic drips and ventilated patients
- Comfortability with Preop, Recovery and Discharge of patients
- Comfortability to have boarded patients if hospital census is full and there are no inpatient beds available
- IV insertion, ventilator training, epidural/PCA set up/initiation, initiation of blood product transfusions
- Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: Epic
- IV pumps: Alaris
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- Floating:
- Will float throughout the unit – Preop, PACU - Phase 1 and Phase 2
- Orientation:
- 3 days (2 days classroom/education and 1 day with a preceptor on the unit)
- Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: Call only – every 4 weekends
- On call requirement:
- Weeknight call: 1 weeknight every 4 weeks – 7p-7a
- Weekend call: every 4 weekends
- Holiday Expectations: Will be required to work in a rotation
- RTO: Manager approval and must be written in contract
- Shift times: vary based on need
- Schedule cycle: every 8 weeks
