Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specialty position is located in Fargo, North Dakota. This critical care role involves caring for adult and pediatric patients following surgical procedures, with a focus on high-acuity cases and a variety of surgical specialties. The position demands clinical expertise in managing post-operative patients in a fast-paced, hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with rotating days, occasional nights, weekends, and call rotations.
- Required Qualifications: North Dakota Registered Nurse license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association); minimum of 2 years of PACU experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care experience preferred.
- Float: Float to other units/departments and between campuses for Phase I PACU may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Unit consists of 18 Bay Phase I PACU and 14 Bay Phase I PACU across 2 floors with same staff.
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1-1 or 2-1.
- Utilizes equipment such as Epic charting, AcuDose Medication Dispensing, Phillips monitors, vents, and BiPap.
- Responsible for caring for patients from babies to geriatrics, including ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and IR post-procedures.
- Application involves hospital-provided scrubs, with orientation and training based on hospital/unit standards.
- The facility has a Level 1 Trauma designation and a large hospital setting with over 250 beds.
