Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in a Level III Trauma Operating Room. The role involves caring for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients following surgical procedures. The RN will work a rotating shift schedule, including evenings and weekends, in a complex community setting. The position requires providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment, adhering to aseptic techniques, and utilizing experience with advanced surgical systems.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Shifts are 8 or 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts RN License; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR); scrub experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in one location and 2 years working as a traveler.
- Shift Details: Rotation to 2-3 evenings per 4-week schedule; 1-2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; on-call required for 1 holiday, 2-3 weekday calls, and 1-2 weekend calls per schedule. Weekend shifts include call responsibilities.
- Additional Information: The unit handles approximately 30-40 patients daily, with a bed count of 15. EMR used is EPIC. This position does not require floating shifts.
