Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is sought for a facility in Louisville, Kentucky. The position involves managing complex post-operative recoveries, requiring ICU-level skills including ventilation management, multiple drips, spinal drains, and lines. The role demands strong assessment abilities and flexibility to float across pre-operative, phase I, and phase II recovery areas, as well as adjacent units as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, and NIHSS certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in complex post-operative recovery, ICU skills, including vent management, multiple drips, spinal drains, and lines.
- Float: Float rotation may be required between Pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery areas, as well as adjacent units.
- Additional Information: The facility utilizes Cerner electronic medical records, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems. Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) with learn modules and 2-3 full shifts in the department. The department operates 24/7, with specific closing times for pre-op and preinduction. On-call may be required during holidays. No weekend rotations are currently scheduled, but schedules may vary.
