Job Summary:
Orthopedic Medical Surgical Nurse specializing in orthopedic care on a unit with 21 beds, including private and semi-private rooms. This rotation involves working in a busy, acute care setting with a focus on patient recovery from orthopedic surgeries, traumas, and other related conditions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts; 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shifts include days, nights, and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Required Qualifications: Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) provided by the American Heart Association (AHA). Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical or orthopedic nursing. Valid nursing license to be submitted and available for verification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with epi cardiac rhythm interpretation and basic arrhythmia recognition skills.
- Float: Float rotation may be required across medical-surgical units, excluding emergency department and behavioral health areas.
- Additional Information: Unit relies on electronic charting via EPIC electronic health record system. The role involves patient care for diagnoses including spinal injuries, seizures, brain surgeries, traction applications, and other complex orthopedic cases. Staff are expected to participate in unit-specific orientation with a preceptor and complete Net Learning Modules.
- Submission Requirements: Only one position at a time across the entire system. Candidates' drivers licenses must be outside of 50 miles from the facility. All submissions must include an unexpired copy of the candidates drivers license, and background hits must be disclosed at the time of submission.
