Operating Room Nurse San Luis Obispo, California. Job Details
- Location: San Luis Obispo, California
- Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week. Schedule and start times rotate.
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. At least 2 years of full-time experience in the operating room. Current RN license in California. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from an approved vendor.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR). Previous experience in Orthopedic, Neuro, and Trauma cases.
- Essential Functions: Competent to circulate during surgical procedures, apply aseptic techniques, operate OR equipment, prepare patients for surgery, and handle biohazardous materials. Ability to access facility information systems and perform patient care assessment and planning. Knowledge of emergency preparedness and safety protocols related to patient security, medical equipment, and environment of care.
- Additional Information: The position involves documentations related to tissue temperature and package integrity, perioperative patient care, and unit maintenance activities such as chart auditing, restocking, and training. Candidates must comply with vaccination requirements and participate in E-Verify. Call responsibilities include at least one night and one weekend per week, possibly more based on operational needs.
