Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves working in a Level I trauma center with a focus on general surgery, trauma, and specialized procedures. The role requires experience with laparoscopic assisted cases, trauma injuries, and a strong understanding of emergency management.
Job Details
- Shift: Evenings, 4x10-hour shifts, 13:00 22:00.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois RN license or in application process, minimum 2.5 years of OR experience, BLS certification, general OR and trauma experience, Level I trauma experience required, Bariatric laparoscopic assisted cases, and specific surgical procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and Whipple.
- Additional Requirements: Must have experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables, and possess professional knowledge of blood administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, and urinary catheterization.
- Certifications: BLS is required; CNOR and CST preferred.
- On-call: Yes, once per week; may include occasional work during major holidays.
- Float: Rarely required within scope.
- Special Procedures and Equipment: Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Mazor Robot, and other surgical tools is preferred.
- Patient Demographics: Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; all service lines except cardiovascular.
- Additional Details: Orientation includes 40 hours prior to start, and compliance requirements must be met within one week of contract signing. Candidate must be at least 50 miles from the facility for OR RN positions.
