Position Overview

- Client Bill Rate: $102.00 / hour (Note: Local radius rule is 50 miles with a 10% reduction to the bill rate)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 24 months of current operating room (OR) experience in a hospital or medical center setting required. No first-time travelers—must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months.
- Specialized Case Experience: Required experience in General, DaVinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma. Orthopedic scrubbing experience is also required.
- Licensure: Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at submission (verified via Nursys).
- Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) or ARC BLS required.
- Charting: EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years required.
Compliance & Facility Details
- Unit Highlights: 16 OR suites (running 12–14 routinely) as a Level I Trauma Center averaging 35–50 cases per day with <20 minute turnover times. Equipment includes 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma.
- Separation Policy: Past employees of UnityPoint Health (FTE or PRN float pool) cannot work travel in another market within 12 months; the policy does not apply if they previously worked travel at UPH.
- Holiday Requirements: Unless the unit is closed, contractors are required to work 1–2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
- Float Requirements: Travelers are required to float across all local campuses (Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and Blank Children's Hospital).
