Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in Tyler, Texas. This role involves providing perioperative care within a busy surgical suite, supporting various surgical specialties with a focus on orthopedic, general, neurological, vascular, and urology procedures. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 09/08/2026
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS; minimum of 2 years of OR experience with proficiency in OR procedures such as Orthopedic, General, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology surgeries. Experience with Epic charting system is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Da Vinci Robots, endovascular procedures, and eye surgeries is advantageous.
- Certifications: BLS
- Skills: Experience with complex surgical procedures listed, including but not limited to, arthroscopy, carotid angioplasty, robotic surgeries, and total joint replacements.
- Additional Unit Details: Shifts are 8 hours with a rotating day off. Call requirements are minimal, involving 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks. Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a daily census of approximately 45 patients in a 14-bed unit.
- Travel Experience: Required, with specific restrictions on residing in certain counties. Licenses must be current and in hand at the time of submittal; previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers.
- Compliance and Onboarding: Core items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing. Modules are completed onsite during orientation and are non-billable.
