Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse in Lafayette, Colorado. This role involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks in accordance with accepted standards of practice defined by the state Board of Nursing. The incumbent will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring health data is continually monitored and utilized to guide therapy and treatment. Providing health education and counseling, executing delegated medical functions, and collaborating with the healthcare team are core responsibilities. The position may require floating to other departments within scope and being on-call during scheduled shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications & Certifications: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) or higher from an accredited nursing school; current RN license in the state of practice; BLS (American Heart Association) certification; at least 1 year of nursing experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing; additional certifications relevant to operating room or surgical nursing, as appropriate to the unit or service, are preferred
  • Certifications & Licensure: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the practicing state; BLS (AHA); ACLS, NRP, or PALS as appropriate for the operating room environment are preferred
  • Required Skills & Experience: Excellent assessment, health teaching, counseling, and documentation skills; experience in treatment plan monitoring, resource utilization, and executing medical functions; prior OR nursing experience is highly preferred
  • Additional Information: The role may involve coordinating and executing surgical and patient care procedures, utilizing resources efficiently, and supporting the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare provider. Flexibility to float between departments and on-call responsibilities may be required.
