Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse in Boise, Idaho. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for oncology patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant treatments. The position requires adaptability to high-acuity patients and team-oriented collaboration on a busy, fast-paced unit.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026
  • Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in medical-surgical or oncology units; Idaho State nursing license or eligibility to obtain; at least 1 year of oncology or chemotherapy experience preferred; willing to float to sister facilities within the scope of practice.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Oncology and chemotherapy certifications are highly preferred; prior experience with high-acuity patients and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, with preference for travelers first to float to like units within scope at nearby campuses.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit staffed with a charge nurse each shift; nurses do not take patients.
    • Nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:3-4, with CNA support at 1:8.
    • Common patient diagnoses include BMT, GYN oncology, hospice, and general medical-surgical cases.
    • Equipment used includes CPAP, High Flow devices, and teletech monitors capable of responding to life-threatening rhythms.
    • Staffing includes two days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor.
    • Scrubs are provided and may be any color, but hoods are not permitted.
    • Must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule from the facility; candidates permanent address required for submission.
