Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse (RN) in a tertiary care hospital setting. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to adult oncology patients across all phases of cancer treatment, including administering chemotherapy, managing ports, and providing post-operative care. The role requires flexibility in floating within scope to meet facility needs, including holiday and weekend shifts.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 2 years of oncology experience; BLS certification; Chemo certification through ONS or ONCC; experience with charting in EPIC preferred; previous charge nurse experience and teaching hospital experience are preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in managing ports, administering blood products, chemotherapy, and handling oncologic emergencies such as sepsis; knowledge of pain management including PCA pump management; experience with interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, and pharmacy.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required; regular floating between departments and units as needed.
  • Additional Information: The position is located on a primary oncology unit treating all types of cancer across all phases of care, including inpatient chemo administration, post-op Gyn-onc care, and neuro overflow for strokes and neurological needs. Must comply with all onboarding and certification deadlines, including EPIC training and infusion pump certification. RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days, and at least 75 miles from the facility.
