NICU Registered Nurse – Travel Assignment in Burlington, Vermont

This 17-week nursing assignment offers rotating 12-hour shifts, a collaborative teaching-facility environment, and the opportunity to provide specialized neonatal intensive care in a vibrant lakeside city near Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains.

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
  • Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; no call; must work 2 of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day)

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of NICU RN experience required
  • Level III NICU experience required
  • Teaching facility experience required
  • Recent EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
  • AHA BLS and NRP required
  • STABLE and RNC-NIC preferred
  • Previous travel nurse experience preferred; candidates without travel experience should have experience in a large NICU teaching facility (500+ beds)
  • Ability to float as needed across newborn NICU, mother/baby, nursery, attending deliveries, and other appropriate neonatal care areas
  • Reliable transportation required; personal vehicle or rental vehicle strongly recommended

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill and specialty newborn patients in the NICU
  • Deliver compassionate, family-centered neonatal nursing care in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment
  • Support newborn care across related units including mother/baby, nursery, and delivery attendance
  • Care for neonates in feeder/grower and age-appropriate pediatric settings when floating is required
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care team members to promote positive patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established unit protocols using EPIC
  • Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care setting
  • Contribute to a team-focused culture while supporting excellent patient care and parent education
