Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Johnston Willis Hospital. This position involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients within a 22-bed unit that can flex up with twins. The role requires collaboration with a team of approximately 50 staff members and entails working day shifts in a fast-paced environment dedicated to high-quality neonatal care.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week. Starting from 09/14/2026 through 12/14/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). No minimum experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) procedures, central line maintenance (PICC/UVC/UAC), intubated/vented patients, Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)/Nasal Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV), and experience with gestational age as low as 23 weeks is preferred.
  • Additional Information: The unit utilizes advanced neonatal equipment including Giraffe isolettes, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, ventilators, and monitors. Responsibilities include assisting with circumcisions, NGT placement, IV starts, lab draws, medication administration, and assisting with diagnostic procedures. The team follows huddle protocols at 0700/1900, and staff are expected to notify facilities 2 hours prior to shift start for call-outs. Floating to pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is optional but not required.
