Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients with neurological diagnoses on an 18-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit that is designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The RN will deliver advanced interventions, including hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia protocols, within a collaborative environment that emphasizes nurse-driven care and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts including day and night, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, two years of recent acute care experience in inpatient neuro or ICU settings, certification in BLS and ACLS, experience with Epic electronic charting system, Basic Arrhythmia experience, and pass Telemetry test prior to start.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Neurosurgery experience, trauma level II experience, and experience with ICP or ventriculostomy management.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required as determined by the organization.
  • Additional Information: The RN will manage adult neuro critically ill patients, including stroke, post-thrombectomy and lysis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgery care. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and radiology. The RN must pass strict telemetry testing with two attempts, with specific criteria for adult and pediatric rhythms. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026, with parking available through UW Transportation at the specified address.
