Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse is needed for a unit located in a healthcare facility in Newburgh, Indiana. The position requires working during night shifts on a 13-week contract, providing patient care for a diverse post-cardiac procedure population. The role involves assessing and managing patients with cardiac conditions, utilizing telemetry equipment, and working within a 34-bed unit with a dedicated leadership team.
Job Details:
- Location: 4011 Gateway Blvd, Newburgh, IN 47630
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday
- Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS certification; two years of strong cardiac/telemetry experience, one travel assignment, trauma level II experience; recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class required)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in post-cardiac procedures (heart cath, ablation, pacemaker), A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes/CBI/renal biopsy; skills in 12-lead ECG interpretation, recovery of heart caths, PIV insertion, chest tube management, drip management, central line care, CBI, detox/CIWA protocol
- Additional Information: First to float within skillset; cross-campus floating to other facilities may be required with a 2-hour notice; unit handles complex cardiac cases with a patient ratio of 1:4-5 during days and 1:6-7 overnight; no Covid-19 vaccine required; scrub color navy blue; precepting of students and new hires may be necessary; limited guaranteed GSA hours during orientation.
