Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients in an acute-care Med/Surg environment. The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement nursing interventions and continuously evaluate patient responses.
• Administer medications following the 5 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition using critical thinking and nursing judgment.
• Complete admissions, discharges, patient education, care plans, and required documentation.
• Receive and provide bedside shift reports while ensuring patient safety.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and follow up on completion.
• Maintain fall precautions, pressure injury prevention, isolation precautions, and safe patient ambulation.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and address patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assist with efficient patient flow, including admissions, testing, and discharge processes.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Promote a professional, positive, and patient-centered environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Trauma Level I experience required
• EPIC experience required
• ASN required
• BSN preferred
• Active Illinois RN License in good standing
• BLS – American Heart Association
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, documentation, and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care environment

• Trauma I and EPIC experience are required
