Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) in a healthcare facility located in the Midwest region. This position involves providing patient care across various general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flap, and ENT patient types. The role requires a proactive and adaptable nursing professional to participate in night shifts, floating across multiple campuses, and working during designated summer holidays.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Medical Surgical (MS) experience in a hospital or medical center setting; recent/current Level I trauma experience preferred; experience with heparin required; active Iowa license or multistate license at the time of submission; BLS certification from AHA or ARC/RED CROSS; no prior travel assignments at the organization within the past 12 months if previously employed; valid drivers license
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent/current Level II trauma experience; references from supervisors or nurse managers within the past 24 months
- Additional Information: The position involves floating across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Medical Center. Orientation is scheduled for 09/28/2026. The unit features 24-26 beds with patient ratios of 1:4-6, depending on day or night shift. Responsibilities include caring for general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flap, and ENT patients, with medication management including heparin drips and titrations. Candidate must be available to work during 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed.
