Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse to assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Patient Population
   Cares for patients of all ages
   Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted; however, nurses will not have more         than one pediatric patient in an assignment
   A pediatrician is on call 24/7 to support pediatric care needs
   The Respiratory Therapy team administers nebulizer treatments and provides             respiratory support as needed Clinical Environment & Patient Care
   Physicians round on Med-Surg patients twice daily
   Focus on comprehensive, coordinated inpatient care
   Strong collaboration between nursing, providers, respiratory therapy, and                     ancillary services Staffing & Ratios
   Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
   Time management and prioritization skills are essential to success in the unit

Patient Population:

• Pediatric through geriatric patients
• Occasional pediatric assignments (maximum of one pediatric patient per nurse assignment)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg RN experience
• Active OR RN License (preferred, or ability to apply on offer)
• BLS, ACLS, PALs, NIHSS (can be obtained during credentialing)
• Ability to work with culturally diverse populations

Additional Details

• Nurses may float to lower-acuity units if census is low.

   

EPIC experience is required and having completed a travel contract is a plus.
