Job Description
Position: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical
Location: Utica, NY
Contract: 13 weeks | 09/14/2026 – 12/12/2026
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Provide nursing care to adult Medical/Surgical patients.
- Care for primarily post-surgical patients.
- Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity/bariatric surgery.
- Use specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes.
- Floating may be required.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- No on-call requirement.
- Epic EMR experience required.
- Prior travel nursing experience required.
Job Requirements
- 2 years of Medical/Surgical RN experience required.
- Travel nursing experience is required.
- Active New York RN license required.
- All active RN licenses must be verified through Nursys.
- Current AHA BLS required.
- Updated resume documenting MS experience and travel assignments.
- Specialty-specific skills checklist matching the position.
- Valid driver's license with address matching candidate demographics.
- RTO must be submitted at the time of application.
- Must be comfortable working 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM–7:00 AM).
- Epic EMR experience preferred/required per submission requirements.
- Local candidates accepted if residing less than 75 miles from the facility; local rate applies.
- OT: Daily after 24 hours and weekly after 48 hours, based on applicable multiplier.
