Job Summary:
Medical Surgical (MS) registered nurses and technicians are needed for a general hospital unit with a capacity of 27 beds. This position involves providing care for patients with various medical conditions, including total joint replacements, general medical/surgical issues, Urology, CHF, PNA, Sepsis, and others. The role requires working rotating shifts, with potential to float to ICU and Emergency Department as needed, and offers a dynamic clinical environment for qualified healthcare professionals.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend rotation.
- Required Qualifications: RN or Tech with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; RN candidates must have a valid license and BLS certification. ACLS preferred for RNs. Nursing home experience is accepted; techs must have 1 year of experience and are responsible for ADLs, feeding, tray setup, answering call bells, vital signs, blood sugars, ambulating patients, and range of motion activities.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience for RNs is highly preferred but not mandatory. Willingness to be trained as a charge nurse is acceptable.
- Float: Float to ICU and ED may be required for Med Surg level patients and task assistance, respectively.
- Orientation: General hospital orientation plus one shift of unit-specific onboarding.
- Additional Information: The facility has resources for difficult IVs and central lines; nurses are expected to make two attempts to start IVs before requesting help. No on-call schedule; two out of four holidays are required. Off time approval by the manager is standard. Scrub color is flexible but must be professional. Parking is available free of charge.
