Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) in a healthcare facility located in the area. This position involves providing direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit, with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and recovery. The role requires adaptable skills to float between units as needed and to perform efficiently during the assigned night shift.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical (MS) nursing, active BLS certification, valid license, at least 1 year of formal charge experience, experience with charting in Epic electronic charting system, and community hospital experience preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Neuro specialized units and skills in cerebrovascular accident (CVA), isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula use, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care/management, neurosurgery pre/post care, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, rapid response, and code team participation
- Additional Information: Candidates may be expected to float between units, with a requirement to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Applicants must include responses to specific screening questions regarding prior employment at similar facilities and provide 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years prior to start date.
