Registered Nurse (RN) – Unit Manager
Location: Marlinton, WV
Contract Length: 5 Weeks
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Scheduled Hours: 36 hours/week
Overtime: $75/hour after 40 hours
Compensation
Total Pay Rate: $65/hour
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,340/week (all-inclusive)
W2 Taxable Pay: $30.38/hour
Weekly Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,246/week ($34.61/hour)
Total Compensation: $65/hour (W2 + stipend)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager for a 5-week contract in Marlinton, West Virginia. The Unit Manager will provide clinical leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing unit while ensuring high-quality patient care, staff coordination, and compliance with facility policies and nursing standards.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily nursing unit operations.
Provide clinical leadership and support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing staff.
Ensure patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient care plans.
Conduct nursing assessments and monitor changes in patient conditions.
Coordinate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families regarding patient care.
Monitor medication administration, treatments, documentation, and infection-control practices.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of nursing documentation and medical records.
Assist with staff scheduling, assignments, and workflow management.
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to nursing staff.
Monitor compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and applicable nursing standards.
Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
Address patient and family concerns professionally and promptly.
Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities as needed.
Wound care responsibilities are required, and the Unit Manager may be expected to work on the floor and provide direct patient care as needed.
Requirements
Current and active RN license.
Previous Unit Manager, Charge Nurse, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and patient-care skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to provide direct patient care and support floor operations when needed
