Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) position in a long-term acute care setting located in a healthcare organization. The role involves providing specialized care on a respiratory step-down unit with a focus on ventilator-dependent and respiratory-focused patients. This position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, requiring every other weekend work, beginning in September 2026 and lasting through December 2026.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 1-2 years of RN experience, with prior travel experience preferred; BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory/ventilated patients is highly preferred.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The RN will work on a respiratory care unit with 36 beds and a respiratory step-down unit with 38 beds. Responsibilities include IV starts, medication drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, Foley care, port access, central line dressings, and wound measurements. The role may involve working on multiple units during shifts, with some time spent on chronic care and trauma units. Candidates must have a clean profile suitable for review and demonstrate experience related to respiratory and vent-dependent patient care.
