Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of bedside clinical experience required; LTAC or acute care experience preferred
- BLS certification required before first shift
- ACLS certification required before first shift
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and organized patient care
- Strong communication, teamwork, documentation, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and use findings to support an individualized plan of care
- Coordinate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to identify teaching needs and care goals
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Support the rehabilitation program and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process
- Initiate discharge planning from admission and reinforce patient education throughout the stay
- Communicate changes in patient condition clearly to physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare team members
- Provide guidance and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel as needed
- Promote patient and employee safety while following facility policies and best practices
- Contribute to a positive, efficient unit culture through teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care
- Take on charge responsibilities after orientation when requested
