Job Summary:
L&D (Labor and Delivery) Specialty position located at a healthcare facility. The role involves providing obstetric and labor support in a busy maternity unit, with responsibilities including managing labor, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care. The position is scheduled for day shifts over a 6-week period, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM). Candidates must have 0 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWHONN Fetal Monitoring and Couplet Care; over 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience; transition nurse/baby catching skills.
- Unit Information:
- Location: Building B, Vintage Tower, 4445 Magnolia Ave, on the 2nd Floor
- Bed Count: 11 labor beds, 4 obstetric evaluation, 2 OB post-anesthesia care unit, 2 operating rooms
- Staff: 79 total with designated day and night shifts, charge nurses, OB technicians
- Typical procedures: Non-stress tests (NST), cervical exams, managing labor, titrating medications, McRoberts maneuver
- Equipment: GE fetal monitoring system
- EMR Systems: CPN, Meditech
- Additional Information:
- Candidates can extend their assignment for an additional 6 weeks at the same rate, contingent upon full credentialing
- The unit operates on weekends and on-call basis as needed, primarily filling staffing needs during peak periods.
