Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a womens services unit within a healthcare facility. This role involves providing care for laboring patients, postpartum women, and well newborns in a hospital setting. The RN will work on a 12-hour night shift schedule, supporting patients according to established clinical guidelines and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality maternal and neonatal care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekends as needed, first to float; minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, Stable (taken at least once), minimum 2 years of experience in labor and delivery (L&D), postpartum (PP), circulating nursing roles, and experience with triage.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, triage experience, and familiarity with GE Connect Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) system.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit features 10 labor beds, 4 triage beds, 10 postpartum beds, and 2 operating rooms for cesarean sections.
    • Care providers include OB/Neonatologists available 24/7, midwives on call, neonatal nurse practitioners, CRNA anesthesiologists, and floor CNA staff.
    • Staff may float to similar units within the valley, with prior notice, to cover staffing needs.
    • Typical patient diagnoses include laboring patients at or beyond 32 weeks' gestation, elective and medical inductions, stable antepartum and postpartum patients, and well newborns.
    • This role involves titrating drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and rarely insulin, with charge nurses and resource nurses available.
    • Customized orientation of approximately 4-6 shifts, with EPIC electronic charting system used for documentation.
    • No telemonitoring staff or specific equipment is required for this role.
